SUMMARY:BIGRIG Adam Spry and The Rig with Gill Brothers Band and Oh Lonesome Ana
DESCRIPTION:Adam Spry is a Songwriter & Multi Instrumentalist whose sonorous tenor vocals cut through the static chatter and straight to the heart of the listener. While he attempts to navigate the modern world\, his songs evoke themes from melancholy and nostalgia to unnerving optimism and hope. No emotions are off limits as he pulls back the curtain on his American tales that force you to ponder whether you are looking through a window or staring in the mirror. \n2020’s release of “Bonanza” shows off how Spry’s sincere songwriting lays a sturdy foundation that supports lush arrangements of guitars and keyboards\, a solid rhythm section and rich harmonies. “Each of these athletic songs demonstrate his versatility and understanding of not just Americana\, folk\, and rock music\, but musical proficiency in general — weaving ’70s\, ’90s\, and modern indie rock all into one seamless experience.” – Daniel Talamantes (The Bay Bridged). \nAnother driving force behind his unique sound is his producer and musical partner Trevor Brooks(Ezra Furman’s “Twelve Nudes” & Netflix’s “Sex Education” soundtrack). Brooks fingerprints are all over Spry’s catalog\, playing multiple instruments as well as engineering\, producing and occasionally co-writing. \nAdam Spry’s debut EP “One Dimensional” was a welcome introduction springing from a musical transition period after fronting his Garage-Folk power trio “The Old Folks”. This feeling is apparent in the song “Between Our Brains” as he sings “It feels like I’ve been moving backwards for all my life. Mama says at least you’re moving. The doctor says I’m okay but I don’t feel right. I guess medicine still can’t prove it.” \nWhen he’s not writing or performing his own songs\, he tours as a guitarist with the Bay Area Americana band “The Live Oaks” opening for the likes of Norman Greenbaum and Larkin Poe. He’s also curated music for the upcoming Indie Film “Tell Momma Not To Worry” and the spanish language coffee education podcast “Cafetera Intelectual”.
