Brian is something else!\nJUNE 15th – features one of the premier saxophonists in New York city\, Tim Armacost\, along with his first-call SF rhythm section. Attached is a song he sent me to play on my KRBC radio show. Enjoy and don’t miss the gig!\nJUNE 22nd – features keyboard/flugelhorn player Doug Morton and guitarist Randy Vincent\, both authors of Sher Music Co. publications. Some high-class playing will ensue.\nJUNE 29TH – features my old roommate Jay Thomas\, a brilliant saxophonist and trumpeter who came down from Seattle especially to play in his old stomping grounds. Great food\, drinks and true Americana blending honky tonk\, rockabilly and Western rock-n-roll. \nThe Famous open the night (8 pm showtime) making their first appearance at The Big Easy having played numerous events in Sonoma County over the years and now take the stage forging a sound that combines the transcendent roar of punk with the brutal honesty and black wit of traditional country.   Take the ’50s-era country of Hank Williams\, Sr. and filter it through ’70s punk rock\, ’80s psychobilly\, and ’90s post-punk and you’ll find yourself staring eye-to-eye with a Bay Area-born original rock-n-roll and country blend.  \nEmery Villains are a mainstay on the Northern California circuit performing their brand of Western Honky Tonk blending classic rockabilly with a modern edge. Their music has a high-energy feel that’s perfect for dancing\, and their lyrics often have a fun\, tongue-in-cheek vibe that’s reminiscent of the genre’s early days.
